I’d like to say that I’m a bit of a concert connoisseur. I’ve been to countless concerts. I’ve seen One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer, MAX, Us the Duo, Pentatonix, Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha (twice!)… the list goes on and on. Because there’s never enough concerts in Minnesota, my sister and I decided to make our way down to the Windy City to see Ke$ha (yes, my third time!) and Macklemore (who I was ecstatic to see!).
In the weeks leading up to the concert (mid-July), I had actually forgotten that I was going to the concert because I’d been kept busy with other things. And, before I knew it, it was concert day and my sister and I were in Chicago.
The concert itself was actually in the Tinley Park Holiday Casino Amphitheater, which makes for an incredible concert if you ask me. We were seated on the grass, and even though we could barely see, it was the time of our lives. We made new friends (shout out to Rio and Stephanie!), danced a ton, and shouted at the top of our lungs to Glorious Days, the song that mentions Minnesota!
Ke$ha was her odd, weird, one-of-a-kind self and Macklemore was absolutely astonishing. Both artists were so incredible, and it was hard to keep back (happy) tears. Though we were only in Chicago for less than 24 hours, it was well worth it. The music was amazing and it was great to spend time with my sister! If you’re debating on traveling for a concert, do it. Make a trip out of it. You won’t regret it.
